It was cool to be making things right from the get go and my friends and family were pretty impressed.
Excellent kit. got me started with arduinos and have moved on to my own projects now. I did not use the CD provided because I thought I would learn more if I wrote the sketches myself. (Also because my computer does not have a cd drive)

So if you're a beginner wanting to learn or a more advanced user just wanting a collection of parts, either way I would recommend this purchase.
I'm really glad I ended up purchasing this. I bought it for the parts it came with to use in another project, but ended up going through the little lesson plan that came with it and am glad I did, I actually learned quite a bit from doing all the lessons (I'm a beginner that got involved in an advanced group project, so my knowledge of arduinos is very helter-skelter between advanced and simple concepts.) Taking the time to work through all the basic circuits it teaches you how to build was not a bad way to spend an afternoon, and although the things you create are simple, when showing someone that has never touched a circuit it's pretty easy to impress them and get inspired to build bigger and better things.

Over all the parts quality is average (maybe a little on the cheap side, though should last several months of tinkering), but for this price it's way better than I expected, and the sturdy plastic box they came in make a great Arduino transport case. The
The bread board is much nicer than the one you get with the Adafruit starter kit, and the the capacitors are handy if you want to mess with radio functions.

The resistors I received were 5 band(blue) and not the beige/brown ones in the image, but they include a handy color chart to help you identify them (they also wrote the ohms onto the paper feed strips, for even easier identification). This is actually a good thing is you build a circuit with many resistors (if you have both body colors).

The LEDs are perfect- not too bright or dim. I have some really bright ones and using all resistors to dim them was a pain.
I got this a week ago and I'm very happy with the purchase. All components are there and everything I've tried works so far.

over all i am very happy with it and my only complaint is that the potentiometer is very flimsy pins but at the same time stiff when turning.
this kit came with every thing needed to start bread-boarding. PLUS it is perfect for the arduino micro.
