1. Lead in

The teacher introduces why AI image detection technology is needed in automatic drive, leads in the device to realize the technology— camera and explain how the camera works, how it works in your life, and how PiCar's camera works in traffic sign detection.

2. Objective

The teacher has prepared a present for each student somewhere in the classroom today. This gift requires students to use specific methods to obtain.

Students need to provide PiCar with traffic signs that allow PiCar to get around obstacles and eventually reach the location of the gift in order to receive the gift.

3. Program Test

The teacher firstly introduces the function of video detection block and then the usage of video monitor on Bluetooth page.

Task 1: Watching PiCar's video on Ezblock in real time, students learn the use of video monitor.

Task 2: Seeing different traffic signs, PiCar is able to detect and say the names of traffic signs.

Explain the functions of traffic sign detection, text and traffic sign type blocks. Take out 4 different traffic sign cards and make PiCar detect different traffic sign cards. Separately analyze “forward, stop, left, right.”Help students find the proper angle and distance to make PiCar detect the corresponding traffic signs as quickly and accurately as possible.

30-45 minutes

4. Read the program flow, complete tasks and optimize them.

Read the flow chart of the program, edit the final task program independently, and complete the task.

Guide the students to add various expansions according to their own ideas on the basis of completing the task (teachers can teach students according to their aptitude in this process, and the learning difficulty of students with better ability can be increased).

Task 3: To get a gift, students need to provide PiCar with traffic signs to let PiCar get around the obstacle and eventually reach the position of the gift.

In this process, the teacher helps the children to be creative and make the game more fun.
