I have finally been able to make it work with I2C on my Raspberry PI.

BUT, the configurations switches are resversed (SET0, SET1)

As written in the Wiki the configuration for I2C mode is:  SEL0 = H; SEL1 = L

But in fact, it is the reverse: SEL0 = L; SEL1 = H

I will try with other modes...

Dear Michal,

For the UART connection, I have wired my FTDI cable this way:

  • 5V  ->  5V
  • GND -> GND
  • TX -> TX
  • RX -> RX

Switch configuration:

  • SET0 : L
  • SET1 : L

I used libnfc 1.7.1, configured build with the following options: --with-drivers=pn532_uart,pn53x_usb --enable-serial-autoprobe

After having plugged my FTDI cable, dmesg gives me:

[ 3275.320950] usb 3-2.3.4: new full-speed USB device number 8 using xhci_hcd
[ 3275.441869] usb 3-2.3.4: New USB device found, idVendor=067b, idProduct=2303
[ 3275.441872] usb 3-2.3.4: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
[ 3275.441874] usb 3-2.3.4: Product: USB-Serial Controller
[ 3275.441876] usb 3-2.3.4: Manufacturer: Prolific Technology Inc.
[ 3275.444719] pl2303 3-2.3.4:1.0: pl2303 converter detected
[ 3275.446629] usb 3-2.3.4: pl2303 converter now attached to ttyUSB0

When I run nfc-list, it says:
/home/thomas/Projects/libnfc-1.7.1/utils/.libs/nfc-list uses libnfc 1.7.1
No NFC device found.

I have also tried to reverse TX and RX : same result

I have also verified that the RSTN pin was in the correct state (H)

Thanks by advance,

Regards

Hello,

I bought this module, https://www.sunfounder.com/pn532-nfc-module-for-raspberry-pi.html, but I am not able to make it work in UART nor, I2C, nor SPI mode.

For the UART mode, I used a USB serial adapter, and tried libnfc on my Linux desktop.

For SPI and I2C modes, I have tried the module with my Arduino UNO.

Do you have any clue ? Can it be an hardware issue (module defect) ?

Thank you by advance

Thomas
