Arduino Project

IR Obstacle Sensor

Course Introduction

In this lesson, we will learn how to use the IR Obstacle Sensor with Arduino.

Note

If this is your first time working with an Arduino project, we recommend downloading and reviewing the basic materials first.

Writing the Code

Note
You can copy this code into Arduino IDE.
Don’t forget to select the board(Arduino UNO R4 Minima/WIFI) and the correct port before clicking the Upload button.

// Define the pin used for the infrared sensor
const int sensorPin = 2;

void setup() {
  pinMode(sensorPin, INPUT); // Set the sensor pin as input
  Serial.begin(9600);         // Initialize serial communication
}

void loop() {
  // Read and print sensor value
  Serial.println(digitalRead(sensorPin));
  delay(50);
}
