Why Choose a Dedicated Raspberry Pi 4 Display?

The Raspberry Pi 4 features dual Micro-HDMI ports, allowing for powerful multi-screen setups. SunFounder Raspberry Pi 4 monitors are optimized to take full advantage of this. Our screens offer sharp resolutions (up to 1024x600 or 1080p) and precise touch control without lag. Unlike generic screens, many of our models, such as the Raspberry Pi 4 touchscreen case bundles, are designed to house the Pi board neatly on the back, creating a clean, wire-free all-in-one PC experience.

Display Interfaces: HDMI vs. DSI vs. GPIO

○ HDMI Displays: The most versatile option. Connects to the Pi 4's Micro-HDMI port and supports high resolutions. Driver-free for video, with USB for touch.
○ DSI Screens: Connects via the Pi's dedicated DSI ribbon cable port, freeing up your HDMI ports for other monitors. Ideal for embedded projects.
○ GPIO Screens: Smaller displays (like 3.5") that plug directly onto the pins. Great for portable servers or simple status monitors.

Frequently Asked Questions

○ Do I need to install drivers for the touch function?
For our HDMI touch screens, the display works out of the box. Touch functionality typically requires no drivers on Raspberry Pi OS (thanks to HID support), though some configuration in config.txt may be needed for optimal resolution.
○ Does the screen come with a case?
Some items are standalone screens, while others are sold as Raspberry Pi 4 touchscreen case kits. These kits include an enclosure that holds both the screen and the Pi 4, often with a cooling fan. Please check the product title.
○ Can I use these screens with Raspberry Pi 3 or 5?
Yes, most HDMI displays are universally compatible. However, cases designed specifically for the Raspberry Pi 4 port layout will not fit the Pi 3 or Pi 5 perfectly due to differences in USB and Ethernet positioning.
